
Aim
To develop a thorough understanding of the safety requirements, operating procedures and principles involved in Fork Lift Truck operations.
Designed For
- People wanting to be trained to safely operate a forklift and be tested for competency in accordance with the National Competency Standards.
You must be minimum age of 18 years to start the course. Must have 100 Points of identification for SafeWork NSW National Certificate of Competency (NCOC) application.
Three (3) days – 9.00am to 4.00pm.
A maximum of eight (8) participants per course.

- Fork Lift Truck Characteristics
- Fork Lift Truck Regulations
- Routine Checks of Forklift
- Pre-Operational Checks

- Identification & Avoidance of Hazards
- Site Inspection
- Operating Forklift placing loads into racks
- Fork Lift License Test

Safe Work NSW Requirements
Individuals issued a Notice of Satisfactory Assessment (NSA) from a Safework NSW accredited assessor on or after 4 September 2006 must lodge their application at any Australia Post Bank@Post outlet in NSW or the ACT.
You must take to the Post Office (the following):
- National Certificate of Competency (license) – New application form (N1)
- NSA issued within the previous 60 days
- Evidence of identity documentation (originals only) that total at least 100 points, as specified on the application form
- Passport-size, quality, colour photograph with your name and date of birth printed on the back
- All NSW-issued NCOC cards held in your name or a letter of authority from making it look like SafeWork NSW if your NCOC cards are lost, stolen, damaged or in a previous name.
- Application fee – $75 per class of license
